This is a beautiful vintage sandwich glass cake plate with handles made by Heisey Glass in the 1930's. This cake plate is referred to as Sandwich glass or Depression glass which means that hot molten glass was put on a two part mold and with pressure the glass is pressed into shape. It has the maker mark of a diamond with an H inside the diamond. The Imperial Glass Company bought some of the molds and the rights to the trademark form the Heisey Glass Company in 1960. In 1968, the Imperial Glass Company stopped using the diamond H trademark. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, fleabites, nicks, repairs, or stains.
