     The letter “UCAGCO” stands for United China and Glass Company which was mainly an importing company for many Japanese ceramic makers. UCAGCO was primarily a distributor of dinnerware and glassware they did produce some dinnerware. Most of their imported dinnerware and glassware was to North America, Central America, and South America. Their main offices were in two locations in the United States one being in New Orleans and the other being in New York. However, UCAGCO was the designer of many Japanese china patterns during the early 1950s. The company dates back to 1850 under the name Abe Mayer and Co. after the end of WWll the names were changed to “United China and Glass Company” but it was not until the 30s that the company took on the official trademark of UCAGCO. The hallmark on this cup and saucer is “Made in Occupied Japan” which was from 1945 to 1952. It is in mint condition with no dents, cracks, chips, necks, scratches, fleabites, repairs, stains, or wears-marks. In addition, it looks like it has never been used.
