Chinses Brass Cloisonné Inlaid Vase

     This unique vase utilizes the ancient enameling technique of Cloisonné, where brass wires are soldered onto the surface of the object to create a pattern. Then the cells, known as "cloisonné," hold a single color of enamel paste, which is then fired, ground, and polished. Although Cloisonné has been used since the 12th century BC in the western world, it did not reach China until the 13th or 14th century. This Cloisonné vase has the marking of just “CHINA” in upper case letters on the bottom side. in1919, the term "China" was replaced by the phrase "Made in China." However, in other markets around the world, the small Cloisonné vase was marked simply as "Chine" until the 1980s that dates this vase at about 1919 or before. These small vases, typically 6 to 6.5 inches height, featured a color palette of black, blue, green, red, and white with brass flower. Unlike most Cloisonné vases, this one does not include black, but instead features shades of turquoise and pink, which giving this Cloisonné vase the uniqueness of not being the stander traditional Cloisonné vases design. This vase was made between 1891 to 1919. The vase does have three dinge on the outer surface as if it had been dropped ones and bounced twice.
