Four Inch Drinking Glass Coaster

     This item is in this collectible category because I cannot find any information on this coaster. What I do know is it is old, because I have had it for a number of decades packed away. There is no hallmark, backstamp, or maker’s marks on it. On the top on the inside area is the word “greetings” with a design of a couple of buildings, which look like they may have snow on them, and a snowman with a top hat on. In addition, on the top outer rim is a stamped rope design. it is made of thin stainless steel that has been press stamped out of a big sheet of metal and the design is also stamped on the inside of the coaster and then polish to give a high sliver polish finish. It is four inches in diameter and a quarter inch high. I think it is a coaster for holding a drinking glass. In addition, it would have been one out of a coaster set and the set would have been 4, 6, or 8 coasters. It does have Christmas scenery on it which would make one think it would have been used for the holiday season. Looking at the bottom of the coaster it does show it has been used. It is in mint condition with no cracks, chips, necks, scratches, fleabites, repairs, stains, or wears-marks. In addition, it looks like it has never been used.
