Goldcastle Japan Hand Painted Vase

     After World War ll in 1947, the supreme commander for the allied powers issued instruction that all export items from japan must be identified with “Made in Occupied Japan" or “Occupied Japan”. After 1952, products from Japan were either marked "Japan" or "Made in Japan". Products marked "Occupied Japan" or "Made in Occupied Japan" are products dated from 1947 to 1952 and are not usually considered "Made in Japan" products. In 1949, this decree was repealed and “Made in Japan” or “Japan” could be used on export products. In 1952 when U.S. occupation of Japan formally ended then “Made in Japan” and “Japan” became the standard hallmark on Japan’s export products to be sold in United States. This Goldcastle Made in Japan vase was produced from1950 to 1960. This vase’s hallmark is marked Made in Japan not Made in Occupied Japan or Occupied Japan which puts the vase’s production date between 1950 to 1960. Most of Goldcastle products are hand-painted with vivid floral design on a yellow or green background. On the bottom of this vase, there is a pagoda crest stamp inside of a circle with the words “Goldcastle” around the top of the circle. Around the bottom of the circle is the words “Made in Japan.” The top of the vase has a scalloped rim and the floral design is hand-painted on a yellow background. It is in mint condition with no cracks, chips, necks, fleabites, repairs, or stains. In addition, it looks like it has never been used.
