The Jeannette Glass Company was establish in 1887 and closed their doors in 1983 after 96 years of glass production. The company started producing bottles and in 1924 introduced hand-pressed tableware into their product line. The last 59 years of the company life was producing a larger verity of glass products for the home use and the company phased out their bottle production. This candy dish design was first produced in the 1950s and production ended in or about the late 1960s. There is very little information about this candy dish, which was sold in larger qualities. The pattern name is” Grapes Cluster” and there was grape leaves and grape vines intermit in the pattern around the dish and on the lid. The top of the lid handle is a cluster of grapes. The background has small glass bumps, which sometimes is referred to as “Hobb” bumps. The pattern is referred to by most collectors as “Grape and Vine” or “Grape Leaf” and the pattern number is 3525, which came in a verity of color and frosted. Some of the clear candy dishes were trimmed out in 14k or 22k gold or silver. The Sabinware Company in Utah may have been the company that applied the gold and silver trim. The colored candy dish was flashed coated on clear glass and was not dishwasher safe so the candy dishes needed to be hand washed. It was made using a four-part press mold. This candy dish has four feet. It is in mint condition with no cracks, chips, necks, scratches, fleabites, repairs, stains, and it has not been modified in any way. It looks like it has never been used.
