This is a used Marsh gauge; Model PG-73 rated at 0-400 psi. and was made by Marsh Interment Company. It is a 400psi. Safecase PG-73 gauge its outer case is Bakelite. Bakelite was a plastic that was invented in 1909 and by 1920 was used for almost everything by 1950’s there was other plastics on the market than was being used as well. This vintage gauge came from the Bunker Hill Smelter in Kellogg, Idaho, which is in Idaho’s panhandle. Could not find a definite date for this gauge however, I believe it was made between 1920 to 1950. It is missing the glass but the retainer ring is still on the gauge. In 1885 is when Bunker Hill smelter complex was establish. Bunker Hill smelting complex went out of business in 1981 because of low sliver prices and other finical problems, which the company had for decades prior to closing the doors to the smelter in 1981.
