This ashtray has the Miss America diamond pattern which was made by the Anchor Hocking glass Company. There seems to be a discrepancy on when this pattern was first put on the market. One source gives the dates for the pattern being from 1935 to 1938 and another source says from 1933 to 1936. However, it is obvious that it was produced in the med-30s. Its official name is Miss American but it is also referred to as Diamond. This pattern can be found without much difficulty except for a few pieces such as the butter dish and the candy dish. The ice blue pieces have surfaced recently but they are very rare and so is the red pieces are also very rare. Some of the pieces can be found with a satin finish. It is definitely one of the top patterns in Depression glass.
