In the 50s to the 80s most of the familiar brands of binoculars like Selsi, Tasco, Sears, Bushnell, and many more were simply acting as a distributors for products that were manufactured by others. In addition, in some cases, a single brand would be bought from a number of different manufacturers. Some of the small binoculars like 6x15, 7x18, 7x35, etc. where manufactured by Seiwa and sold or distributed under other companies names like Selsi, Tasco and other companies. In the timeframe of the 50s to 80s the quality of a particular pair of binoculars did not have as much to do with the brand name that was marked on the binoculars.
